Brigadoon is located in a “dry” county in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Northeast Georgia. The only wine available comes from the local gas station. Twenty years of hosting avid anglers from around the world has taught me at least one thing. Fly fishermen enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day as much as they enjoy the thrill of landing an 8-pound trout. Perhaps even more. After decades of buying hit or miss wines, I decided to blend ones to my own palate. I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, a wine connoisseur. I just enjoy a glass – or three – from time to time.
As I began considering a private wine label for Brigadoon, I contacted several notable vineyards requesting samples. Once they arrived at the lodge, we narrowed the selection, bottle by bottle and guest by guest, to four Fly Line Wines.
